A. WATER SAFETY AT THE BEACH OR POOL
One fallacy many people have is that all dogs are good swimmers. This is not the case. Although swimming is great exercise for your dog, a great way to spend some time with your pet, and a relaxing day of leisure, it also can be dangerous. Many breeds of dogs are built to swim and many are not. Often those that are not, are the dogs that have short pushed-in noses like Pugs, Bulldogs, and Shih-Tzus. Ones with short legs like Papillons, Basset Hounds, Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, and Pomeranians are not good in the water either. Dog breeds that love to swim include, Labrador Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniel, Spanish Water Dog, Irish Setter, Golden Retriever, Chesapeaske Bay Retriever and others. But do not assume that your dog is a good swimmer even he is one of these breeds. It may not come naturally to them.
Life jackets are available for dogs and are a very good way of assuring your pet to be safe.
B. TRAVELING IN A VEHICLE
There has been way too many times I have noticed a parent buckling their child into the proper car seat, yet the family pet jumps in and parks
Kids all over the world need help in healing and understanding. Many issues make it hard for a child to overcome things that happen in their life. However, when they have the ability to have someone there to lean on and get them through the process, it is much easier on everyone that is involved. One idea for this healing power is the animal assisted therapy program.
Kids and animals are going to have a great bond together. It makes no difference what type of animal it is, there is going to be a relationship formed. They are both good natured and good-hearted creatures that deserve to be happy and healthy no matter what. For some kids, they need to have the support of an animal to help them work through issues and even get them to heal in the way that they should.
There are different animals that can be considered for the animal assisted therapy program for children. Many times the varieties of animals is large and it is hard to pick just one that you want to have help you with your healing process. There are usually dogs, cats, pigs, horses, and so many more that are included in
Pets – whether these are dogs or cats or something else – are a staple in almost every home. This is because a pet can be a great companion and a loyal friend, above other things. If you are thinking of getting a pet of your own, it is likely that the first place you are considering is your local pet shop. Do you know, though, that there are other alternatives, such as local pet shelters? Animal shelters are everywhere; chances are, you have one in your town.
Contrary to popular belief, there are actually benefits you can enjoy if you choose to adopt an animal from a shelter. Below are some of these.
You have a wide selection to choose from.
Of course, animal shelters differ when it comes to the types of animals they take in. But if you are just looking for a dog or a cat, you can be sure that you won’t have any difficulty finding a pet in one of your local animal rescue centers and animal shelters.
You don’t need to spend so much time training your new pet.
Most people think that animal shelters only house animals that were rescued from all forms of abuse; this is
Whether you are traveling by air, car, train or foot, carefully consider the needs of your pet and thoroughly review the options available to you and plan accordingly. You should always consider your pet’s health, safety and preferences when deciding whether to take your pet with you or leave them home with a qualified pet sitter. If your pet becomes anxious, motion-sick or does not enjoy new and different situations, especially older dogs, then the best choice is often to leave them at home where they feel safe, secure and comfortable.
Always do what is best for your pet. If air travel is involved, then leaving pets at home with a good pet sitter is usually the preferred option. When you do travel with your pet, deciding what to take is always a good place to start. Depending on the mode of travel and the length of the trip, you will need to pack any necessary medications and medical records, especially if your pet has chronic health problems or is currently under a veterinarian’s care for an ailment. And the appropriate paperwork is essential if your travels take you across international borders (see the links below for specific requirements).
Then you will
